Contingency planning is now included for every practice
Plan actions, rehearsal, the printable emergency document, and trusted contacts are available on every Addison plan at no extra cost.
Contingency planning is out of preview. From today it is available to every Addison practice, on the single plan, at no additional cost.
We debated pricing it separately. We decided against it for a simple reason: a continuity feature that some practices skip because of budget is a continuity feature that fails exactly where it is needed most.
What is included
- Plan actions. A short list of things that happen if your plan activates, each written in plain language and switched on by you.
- A trusted contact. One nominated person who can activate the plan, with no access to your client list, notes, session detail, or allocations.
- A 24 hour hold window. Nothing is sent on the first day. We try to reach you, and you can cancel with one tap.
- Rehearsal. Run the plan as a dry run, see exactly who would be emailed and what they would receive, and send nothing.
- The printable emergency document. A single page you can keep with your will, so someone can act even if they cannot log in.
What changes if you were already in the preview
Nothing. Plans written during the preview carry over as they are, including their templates and rehearsal history. You do not need to re-confirm your trusted contact.
What we changed before launch
Two things came out of the preview that were worth the delay.
The first was the hold window. It started at twelve hours. Almost every clinician in the preview said the same thing: the fear of a false alarm was the reason they had not written a plan before. So we moved it to twenty four and made cancelling it a single tap.
The second was rehearsal. It was originally a summary count: "would email 7 people". People wanted the actual list and the actual wording, so that is what it shows now.
If you have not written one yet
It takes about twenty minutes, and most of that is deciding who your trusted contact is. The plan itself is five toggles and two short messages in your own words.
For provider networks
If you contract providers and carry a continuity obligation for their clients, the same feature is what sits underneath Addison for suppliers: every provider on your panel with a written, rehearsed plan, and assurance for you without anyone touching clinical data.
Write your plan
Nominate a contact, switch on the actions that apply, rehearse it once, and print it.
